opportunity to attend the National Association of Hispanic Journalists conference in 2022.
She not only supported us throughout the trip but has continued to be a valuable mentor

Andrea has been consistently proactive by keeping me informed about relevant events to

“Andrea has helped with Graduate Student Association Social Media
Accounts since 2022 as a way to help increase subscribers and
engagement. For example, she connected us with local TV stations to do
segments about upcoming events to help increase local donor
involvement to support graduate student scholarships. She has done
takeovers for the following events: GSA Unity in Diversity, Poster
Symposium, Spring Awards, and more. She was an integral part of our
social media presence. Andrea is also a teacher who shows GSA staff
members how to be successful in social media and create content that is
directed at our target audience. She is also very detail-oriented in
planning events and writing scripts for GSA Social Media Project Videos.”

and Innovation at the University of Nevada, Reno. She helped me with Microsoft Office,
Canva, and social media posts and provided me with constructive criticism on my writing.

how to make content more accessible, shared notes from trainings she participated in,
and helped with school assignments and class enrollment. It was always nice to have her

for her during an internship, she was very decisive and direct about what she

“Andrea has been nothing short of amazing and a huge impact on my life.
I first met Andrea when she was covering events at my Graduate
Assistantship with the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) Innevation
Center (e.g., Reno StartUp Week). As the Media at these events Andrea
taught my team best practices in social media, including everything from
accessibility practices, ethics, and marketing strategies and programs to
how to create engaging content. In working with Andrea, she
immediately offered her vast knowledge, skills, and network to help me
with the marketing for my personal project outside of graduate school,
“Beyond the Shell: A Film on the Culture and Ecology of a Scarce Marine
Resource.” Andrea met with me on multiple occasions to elevate my
social media marketing strategies, spearheaded events (e.g., film
screenings and panels), coordinated meetings with sponsors for events,
coordinated organizations to table and work events, as well as
coordinated an interview with the local news station (Kolo Channel 8) to
invite the local community to these events. Andrea also introduced me to
the local UNR Indigenous Relations Office, as their office is relevant to the
topic my film covers, and the Hitchcock Project at UNR, which helps
spread awareness about science communication and local students'
research projects. The Hitchcock Project interviewed me and wrote a
newsletter about my project following this meeting that Andrea
coordinated. In working with Andrea, I found she had strong
communication skills and her love for connecting people. On top of
teaching me how to develop engaging science content, Andrea has been
crucial in getting my film out for the world to view. My film is now getting
ready to air on KVIE PBS, and I know this, amongst many other film
screenings, was made possible through the knowledge, skills, and
network Andrea was kind enough to share with me. Her abilities never
cease to amaze me, and I am grateful to have had the chance to work
with her and be mentored by her. I would recommend her time and time
again.”

have ever met. She has been an essential cornerstone in helping our graduate
organization build its brand. Her designs are unique, eye-catching, immensely
effective, and with accessibility in mind. Our media following has tripled since
she started coaching us on how to brand ourselves across our platforms! We
turned to her for every project, whether big or small and her care and support
for graduate students at the University of Nevada, Reno, was unmeasurable.
She would often respond with a helping hand in the middle of the night when
we were just days away from our biggest events like the GSA Poster
Symposium, Spring Award Ceremony, Unity in Diversity, Champagne Toast, and
the like. We could not be more grateful because we saw record numbers in
attendance at those events because of her creativity and ingenuity in design &
messaging! She did all of this out of the kindness of her heart since we did not
have the budget to pay her for her incredible work (!). Yet Andréa would
selflessly go above and beyond for us again and again. Because of her
professionalism and connections, we were featured on multiple news
platforms, including KOLO 8, Telemundo Reno, NevadaTODAY, and many
others. She even secured the attendance of the Washoe County Commissioner
and the City of Reno Government Administration, Equity & Community
Relations at our 2024 Unity in Diversity Fundraising event! And Andréa was
right there with us when we saw the biggest win in GSA history, when she
played a pivotal role in helping graduate students secure $3.6M for graduate
education at UNR Day at the Legislature by broadcasting essential updates via
an Instagram Takeover. But her professional qualities aside, Andréa is a
genuine and caring person, willing to give the jacket off her back for someone
less fortunate! She was the guiding light for many international students at
UNR and served as an essential resource for them on our WhatsApp group
throughout her years with us. I was truly honored to work with Andréa, and I
would highly recommend her services to others. I can guarantee that you will
be lucky to have worked with her, as are we <3."

"I first met Andrea Subitoni Antonio when she took some of the disability-diversity
trainings offered through my department, the Disability Resource Center. She was a keen
and quick learner who displayed great interest in the humanities. After that we became
friends on campus and she began to assist me with the creation of my new program, a
Minor in American Sign Language. She was able to arrange television interviews with local
stations and supported my students and I during that process. She also created a delightful
Instagram Reel for ASL day to spread awareness about the Deaf Community, their
beautiful language and how our university supports them. Andrea was a solid ally for me
